About Me

My name is Nalini Ratanje and I have always loved art. Creativity and creative pursuits are a passion for me. As a child I loved to draw, color and paint.

I attended the College of Art and Design in Manchester, England and graduated in Textile design. Living for a while in the USA, I finally learned to paint “paintings” in Oils and Acrylics.

Currently, I’m living and working mostly in Zimbabwe, Africa. I’ve worked in a textile design studio; freelanced as a writer for a children’s magazine; taught art at a secondary school level and privately. For now, I have a chance to work, on a near full – time basis, and explore my passion in art and I am loving it.

I use a variety of media and create paintings, design greeting cards, take on commissions and have also self-published a children’s coloring book. I have been tinkering with creating earrings and looking to see where this may lead. There are plans for more in all areas.
